Volunteers give so much to our families, including the most precious gift of all: time. By cooking meals, cleaning kitchens and play areas, volunteers give our families more time to spend with their sick children and research shows that a family presence in the hospital helps children heal faster and cope better.
Thousands of hours are given by our volunteers a year through our House and Family Rooms. According to the Department of Labor’s 2008 Time Use Survey, on average household spend 2.6 hours a day doing household activities (cooking, cleaning, etc.) - with an average stay of 10 days, a family can gain an extra 25.4 hours with their child by not having to spend nearly 3 hours a day cooking and cleaning.

Family Room Volunteers - Upon entering one of our Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, families are greeted by volunteers who act as host or hostess of the room.
Group Volunteer Opportunities - The Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland welcomes the energy of corporate groups, civic organizations, school groups and adult groups.
Off-site Group Volunteer Opportunities - There are many off-site activities that groups can participate in that will directly benefit the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland.
