Pull Tab Program

In 2013, you helped us collect over 16,000 pounds of aluminum tabs, generating over $8,000 in recycling revenue.

Thank you!

How does it work?
We collect aluminum pull tabs from any container (soda pop, soup, pet food, etc.) and work with a local recycler to turn those tabs into money for our Family Fund. This fund helps support the families that stay at RMH by providing meals and items for families, assistance in emergencies, and giving families special moments – like small gifts for children if they have a birthday while at the House.

Why do you only collect the tab?
Tabs are easier to store than whole cans in our limited space. Also, tabs are more sanitary than the entire can – which is important in keeping our facility clean and healthy for our guests.

How much do you receive for the tabs?

After the tabs are collected, our local recycler picks up the tabs and brings them to their processing facility, where they are weighed to determine their value (values can vary significantly). The recycling center then sends our House a check for the total value

How do I collect the tabs?
Get creative by making an eye-popping container for your pull tabs. You can download a Pull Tab label to paste on your container here, or you can contact the House for a Pull Tab sticker to get started. Use boxes, coffee cans or large plastic jars with  wide openings (no milk jugs please!). Paint them. Put stickers on them. Use glitter or wrapping paper. The possibilities are endless!

Where do I bring my tabs once I’ve collected them?
We always recommend bringing them directly to the Ronald McDonald House. Donations are accepted every day of the week between the Hours of 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. Should you like a tour of our House when you drop off you donations, please call (216) 229-5757 at least one week prior to your anticipated visit.

Local McDonald’s restaurants serve as collection sites for tabs.
Please call ahead to confirm they are a collection site and are able to receive tabs.  Label your box of tabs for delivery to the Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland.

Or recycle them and send the proceeds to us, we recommend:
